Successful completion of practical projects: Visit by Prof. Dr Christina Feldmann (Aachen University of Applied Sciences)

The completion of practical projects marks an important milestone for students – and a great opportunity for everyone involved to exchange ideas and expertise. To mark the successful completion of the practical projects by students Lina Kamphus and Mika Viets, we welcomed Prof. Dr Christina Feldmann from Aachen University of Applied Sciences to our premises.

During her visit, the project results were presented and discussed together. This impressively demonstrated how valuable the close integration of university teaching and industrial practice is.

In her practical project, Lina Kamphus dealt with the topic

‘Analysis and development of the bearing of a paediatric blood pump’.

She was supervised by Dr. Paul Heinen, project manager with a focus on process technology at evos GmbH. The project combined challenging technical issues with high medical relevance. Particularly noteworthy are the structured development approach, the systematic procedure and the understanding of the special requirements of medical technology in the paediatric environment.

Mika Viets worked on the topic

‘Design and construction of a ventilation and airconditioning system for clean rooms’.

He was supervised by Max Lindemann, Managing Director of sphairlab GmbH. The project addressed key aspects of clean room technology and required a deep understanding of standards, flow control and technical design – skills that are of great importance for numerous high-tech and lifescience applications.

The visit by Prof. Feldmann provided an opportunity for constructive feedback, technical discussions and a university perspective on the solutions developed. Such events underscore the added value of practical study formats and strengthen the transfer of knowledge between students, supervising companies and universities.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Prof. Feldmann for supervising the practical projects, Dr Paul Heinen and Max Lindemann for their dedicated support, and Lina Kamphus and Mika Vietsfor their very successful work. We are delighted to be able to continue supporting Lina and Mika as they work on their bachelor's theses.
