We supported one of our customers in the process development of a coating process for a medical device. Initially, a wire was manually dipped into a solution. This method led to inconsistent and not always repeatable results. Factors such as movement speeds, angles when dipping into the solution and when coming out of it and drying times therefore needed to be standardized and optimized.
We achieved this with a low-cost laboratory system, with which the above-mentioned parameters could be set variably and reproducibly. On this basis, a later qualification of this process and a scale-up of the production figures is easily possible.
